Congratulations to the African American Women’s Fund Project on their wonderful reception last week. The evening event at Miller Park was an unprecedented success and proved to be the perfect opportunity to gather with AAWFP grant partners.
Thank you to the Greater Milwaukee Foundation for their gift of $20,000! “The Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s gift gives the Women’s Fund a chance to leverage additional community resources in support of what we believe is a vital project for the advancement of African American women and girls in our community,” said Ellen M. Gilligan, president and CEO of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation.
Our thanks also goes to the Brewers Community Foundation, for not only hosting the event, but also announcing an exciting $10,000 challenge grant! We’re thrilled that a $5,000 challenge grant was put forward by the Wisconsin Energy Foundation.
We’re also grateful to the many women who pledged their support that evening in response to the $15,000 challenge, including Joan Prince, La Toya Sykes, Maureen McGinnity and Thelma Sias.
Thanks to all who stepped up to help change the future for African American women and girls in our community. Won’t you do the same? Help us meet these challenge grants and bring the additional $15,000 to the African American Women’s Fund Project. Donate now.
