Being FIRST is a milestone we must celebrate

A mile marker on the journey to equity, we continue to experience “firsts” for women.  In 2021, we witnessed the ingauration of Vice President Kamal Harris, and Kim Ng hired as the first woman General Manager of an MLB team. We also saw Captain Amy Bauernschmidt lead as the first woman to command an aircraft carrier. And the 2021 class of lawmakers sworn into Congress is the most diverse in history, boasting several historic “firsts” for women, on both sides of the aisle, as it brings more women to the halls of Congress than any class before it including more women of color.

In 2022, we see the first African American woman as a candidate for the US Surpreme Court…Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. This milestone is coupled with the passing of the first woman who served as US Secretary of State, Madame Madeleine Albright. (May 15, 1937 – March 23, 2022)

Make a gift in honor of celebrating “firsts” for women…women who blaze trails. Women who are “firsts” in newsrooms and in war rooms. Women who are “firsts” on front lines, sidelines and in the headlines. Celebrate by making a gift of any amount. Funds will support our Flash Grant program.

When women come together, we hold the power to create change. Our voices and investments are more powerful together.
