Laundry Nights: Where Conversations Turn Into Connection

Laundry Nights bring our mission into everyday spaces, coffee shops, wine bars, community venues, where candid conversations and genuine connections naturally unfold.

These gatherings are intentionally casual. There’s no stage, no panel, no pressure to have the right words. Just people showing up as they are, ready to listen, share, and explore what gender equity looks like in real life. Sometimes the conversation is personal. Sometimes it’s reflective. Often, it’s grounded in lived experience.

What stays constant is the feeling: welcoming, thoughtful, and rooted in connection.

Laundry Nights are designed to be easy to enter and meaningful to attend. You’ll find:

  • A relaxed, come-as-you-are atmosphere

  • Open conversation that evolves organically

  • A mix of familiar faces and first-time attendees

  • Space to listen, reflect, and contribute at your own pace

Each gathering is hosted by a member of the Women’s Fund community, and is held in a local venue that reflects the spirit of gathering in everyday spaces. Topics aren’t scripted. Instead, they emerge from what people are noticing, experiencing, and navigating in their daily lives.

Typically taking pace on the last Monday of each month, they are free to attend, with registration encouraged so we can plan for the space. You can find upcoming dates and locations on our calendar: https://womensfundmke.org/calendar

From Context to Conversation

Some people come to Laundry Nights after attending a WF Civic Break. Civic Breaks offer clear context and grounding around timely topics. Laundry Nights create space to sit with that understanding alongside others to talk it through, reflect, and hear how it shows up in real lives.

If Civic Breaks help you make sense of what’s happening, Laundry Nights are where those insights turn into connection. There’s no agenda and no expectation, just an open room where understanding meets lived experience. They’re different experiences, but they often inform one another in meaningful ways.
