WF Civic Break: The Hidden Rise of ICE Detentions in Wisconsin

April 23 @ 12:30 PM - 1:00 PM
Free

WF Civic Breaks are short, accessible briefings designed to cut through the noise around timely civic and policy topics. Created to fit into a busy day, each session offers clear context and key takeaways for anyone who wants to stay informed and engaged in what’s shaping our community. Click here to learn more about WF Civic Breaks.

Recent federal immigration enforcement actions have raised significant legal and civil rights questions, and left many in our communities uncertain about what’s happening and what it means for them.

Join us for a free, 30-minute briefing with Grant Sovern, immigration attorney with the Community Immigration Law Center, for a clear, accessible conversation about what current enforcement actions involve, who is affected, and what rights people have regardless of immigration status.

Registration required (see below). Free to attend.

WF Civic Breaks offer the briefing; WF Laundry Nights offer the space to talk it through together.

ABOUT GRANT SOVERN

Grant Sovern was a partner and co-chair of the Immigration & Mobility Practice Group at Quarles. He now is director of Madison’s Community Immigration Law Center (CILC), a public defender nonprofit law firm for people in Wisconsin who have cases in immigration court.
