Join us for a Women’s Fund gathering around Milwaukee Film’s restoration of The Piano, the 1993 landmark chosen to represent the first decade of our 40-year story. Learn more here.

Written and directed by Jane Campion, the film follows Ada, a pianist navigating an arranged marriage and a world determined to limit her choices. Its exploration of voice, agency, and the fight to be fully heard reflects a central tension of our earliest years: women were gaining visibility and influence while still working to claim the power to shape culture, institutions, and community life.

Come experience the film with us, and revisit one of the stories helping us look back at where we began and forward to what comes next.
