“I think 'Hood Feminism' is a good book to continue the conversation of the feminist movement and the issues of intersectionality we heard at the Women’s Fund Presents event held in November 2021. Oftentimes, we look at the lens of feminism through goals such as pay equity and executive leadership; however, these pale in comparison to issues many women of color from a different socioeconomic reality are dealing with: food insecurity, housing issues, gun violence, and sexual assault. As a feminist, I look forward to learning how to make my feminism more intersectional.”

Joan Marie Johnson examines an understudied dimension of women’s history in the United States: how a group of affluent white women from the late nineteenth through the mid-twentieth centuries advanced the status of all women through acts of philanthropy.

This runaway bestseller, brought to you by the attorney founder of the Notorious RBG Tumblr and an award-winning feminist journalist, is more than just a love letter. It draws on intimate access to Ginsburg's family members, close friends, colleagues, and clerks, as well as an interview with the Justice herself. An original hybrid of reported narrative, annotated dissents, rare archival photos and documents, and illustrations, the book tells a never-before-told story of an unusual and transformative woman who transcended divides and changed the world forever.
