Milwaukee real estate executive Patti Keating Kahn and philanthropist Joan Robertson were among nine women honored Nov. 1 by the Women’s Fund of Greater Milwaukee for their philanthropy work in southeastern Wisconsin. The annual Power of Philanthropy drew hundreds of Milwaukee-area business and community leaders. The keynote speaker was author and philanthropist Joan Marie Johnson, whose most recent book was “Funding Feminism: Monied Women, Philanthropy, and the Women’s Movement, 1870-1967.” In her book, Johnson discusses historical milestones, themes in women’s philanthropy and the impact of money.
