We were recently featured in THREE magazine, published by Historic Third Ward, in a piece celebrating milestone anniversaries across the neighborhood this year. Our 40th made the list alongside longtime Third Ward institutions.

Forty years ago, 36 women came together to build an organization around a single idea: that advancing gender equity requires sustained investment, not just goodwill. As Executive Director Lisa Attonito told THREE, “Today, that sounds so simple and routine, though at the time, this was revolutionary.”

That mission hasn’t changed. Over four decades we’ve awarded grants, provided advocacy, hosted community conversations, and created space for learning and connection across southeastern Wisconsin in service of advancing equality and supporting women’s well-being.

We’re grateful to call the Third Ward home, and glad to be counted among this year’s milestones.
