BizTimes: Women’s Fund of Greater Milwaukee Chief to Retire

The executive director of the Women’s Fund of Greater Milwaukee, Margaret Henningsen, will retire on Oct. 1, the organization announced Monday.

Henningsen has served as executive director for the past five years and has held multiple positions with the organization over the past 18 years.

“I am very proud of our work at the Women’s Fund of Greater Milwaukee, what we have accomplished over the years and the work we continue to do,” Henningsen said. “Milwaukee is a very special place to me and my family – it is our home. I look forward to working with the board and my successor to ensure a smooth transition of leadership, and make certain we sustain and grow what I believe to be one of the most impactful organizations in our region.”

The Women’s Fund has begun to search for Henningsen’s replacement.

“On behalf of the Women’s Fund of Greater Milwaukee, we’re very grateful to Margaret for her commitment and leadership over the past 18 years, including as board chair, Grants Advisory Committee member, and executive director for the past five years,” said Women’s Fund Board Chair Susan Hickey. “The board is placing considerable importance on finding a new leader for the future to continue the progress made over our 30-year history.”
