power... illuminated event featuring the hoan bridge

because of you…

This special occasion was a great success!

On September 27, 2023, we gathered to celebrate a pivotal moment in Women’s Fund history, marking the reveal of our new brand identity—an identity deeply rooted in our commitment to mobilize philanthropy and foster unity for gender equity.

This brand refresh journey began with insights from Doris Heiser, a founding mother, our board directors, and over 200 WF constituents. Collectively, their feedback reinforced the trust and expectations placed in the Women’s Fund to be a vocal advocate for women.

Our updated logo stands as a symbol of our distinct identity in Greater Milwaukee. Paired with a more compelling brand voice and resonant messaging that highlights our advocacy, the WF is distinctly positioned to lead the women’s movement locally in a more relevant and impactful manner.

Remember, this is just the starting point. Your support is crucial—we are the movement. We all must embrace feminism and philanthropy. It’s not about “them,” it’s about “us.”

Let’s be the change. Let’s be the voice. And let’s make it resonate. We are not just part of the conversation; we are the conversation. The urgency is now, and it starts with us.

Erika Smith, executive director of Light the Hoan, designed the light show and worked with Charlie, owner of AboveMKE and an expert in drone photography, to officially capture it for us.

The opportunity to light the Hoan Bridge came by way of Marilka Vélez. She purchased a package in support of the Villa Terrace Art Museum and then donated it for use by the Women’s Fund. That’s leveraging philanthropy for the greater good. Thank you, Marilka!

In addition, we also want to thank these women for making gifts when they registered for the event.
